Fore Club Alliance Dates for 2012

The Fore Club Alliance, comprising of Ballaghaderreen, Boyle, Castlerea and Strokestown, will each host their annual competition weekend on the following dates in 2012:

• Boyle - 12th & 13th May
• Strokestown - 2nd, 3rd & 4th June (Bank Holiday Weekend)
• Ballaghaderreen - 14th & 15th July
• Castlerea - 25th & 26th August

Each of the clubs are looking forward to hosting the events, which have enjoyed great turnouts since the inception of the Alliance in 2010.

Prize Draw from Open Classic Weekend

The draw for the raffle for which tickets were sold throughout the Golf Classic Weekend was recently made. Congratulations to John & Nuala Frain who won a weekend for two away at Knightsbrook Hotel & Golf Resort in Trim, Co. Meath.

Captains Drive-in / 9 hole scramble 2012

The Captain's Drive-In dates will be announced in Mid-December 2011. Details of same will be published on this website as soon as they are available.

Fore Club Alliance Presentation 2011

The presentation of the annual Fore Club Alliance took place in Boyle Golf Club on 25th November, where Strokestown dethroned Ballaghaderreen and were crowned 2011 winners.

The Alliance was formed in 2010 and is made up of the four local 9 hole courses of Ballaghaderreen, Boyle, Castlerea and Strokestown, and continues to be a great success, with each of the venues hosting a weekend's golf during the year.

Details of 2012 fixtures will be announced as soon as they become available.

Open Classic 2011

The Club would like to thank everybody who participated in the Golf Classic which was held from 9-11th of September 2011. We would also like to thank all of our sponsors who so generously contributed to the weekend, which was a huge success. The team of four lead by local man, Joe Smyth, ran out the eventual overall winners. The presentation took place in Durkin's Bar on Sunday 11th September, where the prizes were given to the winners of each of the categories. A special thanks was made by all present to John Frain, who put so much effort into organising the event.

May Bank holiday Weekend.

There will be an 18 Hole Stableford over Saturday and Sunday. On Monday there will be

a 9 hole re-entry.

The launch of the FORE Alliance takes place on Friday the 29th April in Strokestown Golf club. There is a 9 hole scramble at 6:30 followed by the launch.

Captains Drive-in / 9 hole scramble 2011

The Captain's Drive-In will be on Sunday 6th February at 10:15 followed by a 9 hole scramble. The scramble is sponsored by Shannonside. Please support our Captains.
